Hey man, slow down

*Start here.*

It seems that there is always too much to do and read and watch and write and click and get outraged about and debunk and upload and text and email and Instagram and Tweet and misspell and lose and forget and what am I talking about.
And it doesn't matter. The leaves will come down at their own speed.

Spacing out

It's time to harvest (or at least pick) apples and garlic and pumpkins and cover our tables with gourds, our chests with sweaters and our heads with new ideas. A seasonal change is a great time to start new things and to get going on that project you've been sitting on for a while.
Let's not get lost in space.

Yesterday's Internet, Today!'s assortment of links can be as cohesive as the rumblings of a lunatic from Mars. That's why you should get it in your email.

Actually, it ain't over 'til Yogi Bear dies

I have this habit where I try to squeeze as many links into my reading diet as possible, by bookmarking and saving for later and favoriting and subscribing to digest newsletters and on and on. As you might have guessed, I don't get to all of them, and a lot of those links and stories stay stored in my favorites or bookmarks or emails for a long time, gathering digital dust, until I do a seasonal cleaning and trash a lot of stuff. It's a very familiar pattern, but none of this is tangible.
I sometimes wonder how much time we spend managing intangible things that we'll end up trashing.
How many emails are currently in your inbox?
How many documents do you have on your desktop?
Why?

Fading signs

If you go down Broadway in Kingston, you'll notice fading signs of businesses past, still trying to remind you that they were there, and that they literally left their mark in the city.
Is there a business that's gone that you were fond of?

Headless Kingston

Perceptive Kingstonians might have noticed that "Untitled Head," a piece that was part of the Kingston Sculpture Biennial, has been replaced by a piece that was once located nearby within the property of what used to be the King's Inn.
Alas, poor"Untitled Head," ... a fellow of infinite jest, of most excellent fancy.
